Svetlana Nogina-Braithwaite was born in Tambov, Russia, in April 1971. Couple years later her family moved to Ukraine where she spent her childhood years on the banks of Blue Danube in small Ukrainian town –Ismail. Painting and drawing were always part of her life. As a child, she loved to go to parks, museums and other public places with pencils and paper to draw people and surroundings. Through her art she learned how to express her inner world. Svetlana’s love for education brought her back to Russia where she received her Master’s Degree from Teaching Training University. Next 10 years, she lived and worked in her hometown in Ukraine. In 2005 she moved to the Netherlands, a country with rich art history and beautiful culture. During the time that she lived in Europe, she extensively traveled and met many people from different countries. This cultural exposure further influenced her art style. From objective art she moved to more abstract style. In 2012, she met her husband and moved to Florida. Here her love for art brought her to Florida Atlantic University where she received a Bachelor degree in Art. Currently, she lives and works in Boynton Beach. She is known for mixed media, involving oil, acrylic, collage and resin. She exhibited her works in Armory Art Center and in Art on Park Gallery. Her works can be found in private collections in Ukraine, Russia, Netherlands and United States.
