Advertising Policies and Guidelines

The Ad Review Process

Before ads are shown on Talent Joe, they are put through a review process to be sure they meet our Advertising Policies. Typically, ads are reviewed within 24 to 48 hours (in some cases the process may be delayed).

Advertising Policies and Guidelines:

  1. Talent Joe reserves the right to reject, approve, or remove any ad for any reason, including ads that negatively affect our relationship with our users. Any ad that promotes activities, content, or services contrary to our philosophies, interests, or competitive position will not be considered for the site.

  2. Age-Restricted Material

    Some ads will not be approved because of content that is not appropriate for younger audiences. If your ad was rejected and you have questions, please contact us.

    Targeted ads for minors must not contain, refer to, or promote products, services, or content that is inappropriate, unsafe, illegal, or that exploit, mislead, or exert undue pressure.

  3. Compliance and understanding of all applicable laws and regulations is the responsibility of the advertiser. Failure to comply may result in the cancellation of ads and termination of your account.

  4. Sensitive personal data is not used for ad targeting on Talent Joe. Topics chosen for targeting your ad may not reflect the personal beliefs, characteristics, or values of users.

  5. Each advertiser or client must be managed through separate ad accounts if you are managing ads on behalf of other advertisers. You must not change the advertiser or client associated with an established ad account. You create a new account. If you manage ads on behalf of another advertiser, you are responsible for ensuring compliance with these Advertising Policies.

  6. Ads must not promote the sale or use of the following:

    1. Illegal, prescription, or recreational drugs;

    2. Tobacco products and related paraphernalia;

    3. Unsafe supplements, as determined by Talent Joe Enterprises at it’s sole discretion;

    4. Weapons, ammunition, or explosives; or

    5. Adult products or services

  7. No ads on may violate the Talent Joe Community Guidelines or our Community Standards. Additionally, ads may not contain any of the following:

    1. Content which infringes upon or violates the rights of any third party, including trademark, copyright, publicity, privacy, or other personal or proprietary rights.

    2. Adult content. This includes nudity, activities that are overly suggestive or sexually provocative, or depictions of people in explicit or suggestive positions.

    3. Shocking, sensational, excessively violent, or disrespectful content.

    4. Content that defames or implies defamation to personal attributes. This includes direct or indirect assertions or implications about a person’s race, ethnic origin, religion, age, beliefs, sexual orientation or practices, gender identity, disability, medical condition (including physical or mental health), financial status, membership in a trade union, criminal record, name or appearance.

    5. Deceptive, false, or misleading content, including deceptive claims, business practices, or offers.

    6. Content that exploits controversial social or political issues for commercial purposes.

    7. Audio or flash animation that plays automatically without a person's interaction or expands within Talent Joe after someone clicks on the ad.

    8. Non-functional landing pages. This includes landing pages that interfere with a person’s ability to navigate away from the page.

    9. Spyware, malware, or any software resulting in an unexpected or deceptive experience. This includes links to sites containing these products.

    10. Bad grammar or punctuation. Symbols, numbers, and letters must be used properly.

    11. Images that portray nonexistent functionality.

    12. Images that contain "before-and-after" images or images that contain unexpected or unlikely results.

    13. Payday loans, paycheck advances or any other short-term loan intended to cover someone's expenses until their next payday.

    14. Content leading to external landing pages providing an unexpected or disruptive experience. This includes misleading ad positioning, such as overly sensationalized headlines, and leading people to landing pages that contain minimal original content and a majority of unrelated or low quality ad content.

Additional Prohibited Content

  1. Alcohol & Drugs: Ads that promote or reference alcohol or drugss

  2. Dating

  3. Online real money gambling/games of skill

  4. State lotteries

  5. Online pharmacies

  6. Supplements

  7. Subscription services

  8. Lead ads

  9. Use of Talent Joe Brand Assets without written permission

  10. Use of Talent Joe copyrights, Trademarks, or any confusingly similar marks

Video Ads

Video ads and other dynamic ad types must comply the all of the rules listed in these Advertising Policies, including the Community Standards, as well as the policies below.

Prohibited content:

  1. Interruptive experiences: Videos and other similar ad types may not use overly disruptive tactics, such as flashing screens.

  2. Entertainment related restrictions:

    1. Ads for movie trailers, TV shows, video game trailers, and other similar content intended for mature audiences are only allowed with prior written permission from Facebook and must target people who are at least 18 years of age. Excessive depictions of the following content within these ads are not allowed:

      1. Drugs and alcohol use;

      2. Adult content;

      3. Profanity; or

      4. Violence and gore.


  1. You must not use targeting options to discriminate against, provoke, harass, or disparage users or to engage in predatory advertising practices.

  2. If you target your ads to custom audiences, you must be in compliance with the applicable terms when creating an audience.


  1. Relevancy: All components of an ad, including any images, text, or other media, must be relevant and appropriate for the audience and product or service being offered.

  2. Accuracy: Ads must clearly represent the product, service, brand, or company that is being advertised.

  3. Landing pages: Products and services promoted in the ad copy must match those promoted on the landing page. The destination site may not offer or link to any prohibited product or service.

Data Use Restrictions

  1. Any ad data collected, received, or derived from your Talent Joe ad must only be shared with someone acting on your behalf, such as your service provider. You are responsible for ensuring your service providers protect any Talent Joe advertising data or any other information obtained from us, limit their use of all of that information, and keep it confidential and secure.

  2. You may not use Talent Joe advertising data for any purpose (including retargeting, common link data across multiple advertisers’ campaigns, or allowing piggybacking or redirecting with tags), except on an aggregate and anonymous basis (unless authorized by Talent Joe) and only to assess the performance and effectiveness of your Talent Joe advertising campaign.

  3. You may not use Talent Joe advertising data, including the targeting criteria for your ad, to build, edit, append to, influence, or augment user profiles, including profiles associated with any mobile device identifier or other unique identifier that identifies any particular user, browser, computer, or device.

  4. You may not transfer any Talent Joe advertising data (including anonymous, aggregate, or derived data) to any ad network, ad exchange, data broker or other advertising or monetization related service.
